Designated Schools
With the authority of the School Act, EIPS has created a boundary system where students are assigned a designated school, which is usually their neighbourhood school, depending on school capacity and utilization. By providing a designated school for each child, EIPS ensures there is space available in that school to meet children's educational needs.

- Simply enter your street address, or housing development.
- Click "Search" and the results for the designated elementary, junior high, and high schools will be displayed for you.
- While every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of the data, the School Board has the final word should there be any discrepancy.

School of Choice (Boundary Exemptions)
Important Changes to the Boundary Exemption Process
EIPS has implemented changes to the Boundary Exemption process in an attempt to increase efficiencies and ensure the process is both fair and equitable for all involved. Parents/guardians/independent students who may be considering attending a School of Choice are asked to note these important changes, paying particular attention to the revised process and application deadlines:
- Using the new Boundary Exemption Request Form, students and parents will be asked to provide a reason for the Boundary Exemption request.
- In order to have the request considered for approval, parents/guardians/independent students must ensure the form is completed in full and submitted to the Designated School by March 15, 2010 for sign off by the principal.
- The form must then be submitted to the principal at the receiving (School of Choice) prior to April 15, 2010.
The Board of Trustees supports the provision of school choice and the promotion of educational alternatives in order for families to make informed educational decisions. Thus, parents and students may apply to attend any EIPS school they wish through the boundary exemption process.
Students who choose to attend a school other than their designated school assume responsibility for their own transportation; however, school of choice busing services may be made available for a fee.
