The next COSC meeting will take place Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will take place in the Boardroom at EIPS' Central Office in Sherwood Park (683 Wye Road) with videoconferencing connections to Fort Saskatchewan High and Vegreville Composite High.

Who We Are

Committee of School Councils (COSC) is a parent group comprised of School Council Chairs, EIPS trustees, and administrators. This group generally meets on the first Wednesday of each month (October to June) in the library at Ardrossan Junior Senior High School to discuss educational issues and trends, specifically relating to EIPS.

Alberta School Councils' Association Annual Conference & AGM

The Alberta School Councils' Association (ASCA) will host its Conference and Annual General Meeting April 20-22, 2012 at the Delta Edmonton South.

Registration deadline is April 10, 2012.

Alberta School Councils' Association Awards of Recognition 2012

Recognize the outstanding contributions of your school council through the Alberta School Councils' Association Awards of Recognition. Nominate a deserving recipient in one of the following categories:

  • School Council Award of Merit
  • Excellence in Learning Partnerships Award
  • Parent of Distinction Award

Nomination deadline is February 29, 2012

  3. Alberta School Councils Association (ASCA) - ASCA is a province-wide organization of School Councils with a mission to engage and support parental involvement in public education through school councils, and direct parental views and voice into the education system.
  4. Refer to ASCA's Alberta School Council Resource Manual (2007) for information on the operation of school councils and on key topics of importance to school councils and other education stakeholders. It is a comprehensive tool that will facilitate school council effectiveness which, in turn, will support school improvement.
