Introduction
We are the school of choice for parents looking for a strong school community supported by high expectations in their education. Our students, parents and teachers work collaboratively and supportively to develop their potential in an environment based on trust, respect and hope. Students are supported through conflict resolution skills and character education. It is a place where people are filled with a positive outlook on life; it is a place where people work hard, celebrate their accomplishments and provide support during difficult times.
École Élémentaire Ardrossan Elementary School, a dual-track school offering both a regular English program and a French Immersion program, is located 10 minutes east of Sherwood Park. All but a few of the approximately 470 students are bussed to school, and come from acreages and farms and communities in the surrounding area. Since this is the designated French Immersion School for this area, a number of out of boundary students attend here to take advantage of the French Immersion Program, K-6. French Immersion Junior High and Senior High programs are also available at the nearby Jr. / Sr. High School. The school houses a system program as well: REACH (Resources in Early Childhood) Program.
École Élémentaire Ardrossan Elementary School is known for its strong emphasis on academics. The teachers and support staff work closely with parents to provide learning opportunities for all students.
École Élémentaire Ardrossan Elementary School offers a variety of opportunities for students to maximize their achievements in the areas of fine arts, academics and physical education. We offer a Daily Physical Activity program to encourage the development of a healthy lifestyle. We are very proud of our students and their achievements.
A before and after school care program is offered on the premises by a non-profit organization: Children's Care Centre Society of Rural Strathcona. They can be contacted at 780-922-2568 or through email at: childrencarecentre@telus.net.
Our parents can also access French and English playschool programs for pre-school children through the Ardrossan French Playschool Association located in our school in room 329.
