2019-20 EIPS Parent Survey Results Report
The results are now available for the 2019-20 EIPS Parent Survey conducted in March. Thank you to all families who took the time to share their feedback with the Division. The survey included 21 questions related to the three priorities outlined in the EIPS 2018-22 Four-Year Education Plan:
- Priority 1: Promote growth and success for all students
- Priority 2: Enhance high quality learning and working environments
- Priority 3: Enhance public education through effective engagement, partnerships and communication
The overall survey data summary represents 2,967 responses from parents and guardians across the Division. This was a decrease in responses from 3,713 in the previous year.
Highlights from this year’s survey:
- 91 per cent of respondents reported they either strongly agree or agree their child is safe at school
- 89 per cent of respondents reported they either strongly agree or agree their child is encouraged to do his or her best
- 89 per cent of respondents reported they either strongly agree or agree their child has demonstrated growth in numeracy
- 89 per cent of respondents reported they either strongly agree or agree school staff care about their child.
- 88 per cent of respondents reported they are strongly satisfied or satisfied with the quality of teaching at their child’s school
- 87 per cent of respondents reported they either strongly agree or agree they are satisfied with the quality of education their child is receiving at his or her school
- 87 per cent of respondents reported they either strongly agree or agree their child has demonstrated growth in literacy
- 87 per cent of respondents reported they strongly agree or agree their school keeps them informed about their child’s progress and achievements
EIPS is committed to ensuring all parents and guardians of students within the Division have a chance to share their thoughts on the overall performance of their school and the Division. One of the ways EIPS ensures its parents’ voices are heard is by conducting this annual parent survey.
The feedback gathered will help the Division measure its progress toward meeting the priorities and goals outlined in the EIPS 2018-22 Four-Year Education Plan and develop strategies to better serve students and the wider community moving forward.
