Sherwood Park, AB. — Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) is pleased to announce it has selected an architectural firm to design the Wye Elementary replacement school.

ONPA Architects Inc., an award-winning firm based in Edmonton, has worked on and designed many impressive educational institutions in Alberta including the Jasper Shared School, the Bawlf School, Archbishop Oscar Romero High and EIPS’ own Mundare School.

All feedback and input the Division has received from community members, teachers and students about the replacement school is being shared with ONPA. Additionally, a series of collaborative public meetings are planned for early fall 2017 as the firm begins its design process. The meetings will focus on the expectations key stakeholders have regarding the building design, what features should be included and how to best incorporate it into the surrounding community. The Division’s goal is to create a facility that ultimately offers EIPS students the highest quality education possible—now and well into the future.
