Sherwood Park, AB. — Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) is hosting an information session for families interested in the new German language and culture program at Mills Haven Elementary on February 11.

At a recent Board meeting, trustees approved changes to the German programming at Mills Haven Elementary. The German bilingual program is moving to a German language and culture program, starting September 2019. The new program will continue to offer 160 minutes of German instruction per week, the SprachDiplom exam, and a German focus where students learn to speak the language and gain a deeper appreciation for German culture and traditions.

Parents interested are invited to attend the information session to learn more about the program, the language-and-culture framework being used across the province and how to register. Attendees will also have the opportunity to offer feedback, ask questions about the program, and talk to representatives from EIPS and the Division’s language and culture consultant.
