Information for Students, Staff and Families
For the 2021-22 school year, the Government of Alberta expects school operations to return to as normal as possible, which it outlines in Alberta Education’s 2021-22 School Year Plan. The province has also developed a series of recommendations and best practices for school divisions to use, as a minimum standard, to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses.
Using the province’s guidance documents, public-health data, a working-group committee, family feedback and operational data from last year, the Division has developed its own operations plan entitled EIPS Operations Guidelines 2021-22: A resource for students, staff and families. The document outlines how schools are operating and public-health measures in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19 or any illness outbreak during the 2021-22 school year. In some circumstances, the Division exceeds the minimum provincial health measures, where enhanced precautions are warranted.
The following is a list of frequently asked questions (FAQ) received from students, staff and families about operations for the 2021-22 school year. EIPS will continue to update its operations plan and FAQ document as more information becomes available.
