Starting in September, Alberta Health Services (AHS) will host COVID-19 immunization clinics in schools. The clinics are open to all students aged 12 to 19 in grades 7-12. EIPS strongly encourages all eligible students and staff to get fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
The immunization program is scheduled to begin in mid-September—schools will share specific dates with families as soon AHS confirms the dates and times. Parent or guardian consent is required for anyone under the age of 18. To consent, simply print off and sign the AHS Consent Form for COVID-19 In-School Immunization. Then return the completed consent form to the school.
NOTE: The AHS mature-minor process does not apply to the COVID-19 school immunization program. Students under 18 years of age will NOT be immunized without a signed parental consent form.
For more information about the program, refer to AHS’ COVID-19 School Immunization Program Letter. Alternatively, contact your local public-health office or call 811.
