Following the cancellation of in-school classes in March 2020, and the decision by Premier Kenney and Education Minister LaGrange that in-school classes would remain cancelled for the remainder of the 2019-20 school year, Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) reviewed school and transportation fees paid by families to determine any refunds owing.
If you did not specifically request a refund earlier in June, the amount owed back to you has been entered as a credit in your child’s PowerSchool account. Credits have been applied to any outstanding amounts from 2017-18, 2018-19 and 2019-20. Log in to your PowerSchool account to review the details. Non-EIPS families can review transportation fee credits in their Student Quick Pay account.
School and transportation fee credits can be:
- applied against the student’s 2020-21 fees
- applied against a sibling’s 2020-21 fees or current outstanding account
For families who requested a refund:
If all textbooks, Chromebooks and other school-owned items were returned, refunds requested were processed over the summer. Refunds will be reduced by fines for any damaged or unreturned items. If families were unable to return materials in June, refunds may not be processed until after the summer break.
