On April 30, during the COVID-19 update, Premier Kenney announced that in-school classes would remain cancelled for the entirety of this academic year. He also stated that alternative learning methods currently in place would continue through June 2020. Shortly after, on May 1, we received formal notification from the Minister of Education confirming this decision.
A few weeks ago, EIPS emailed all families about school and transportation fees to advise them we would calculate amounts owed back once we knew for how long in-school classes would be cancelled. EIPS will now begin the process of figuring out what amounts are owed, which will then in turn be reflected in PowerSchool account balances. EIPS will not be accepting fee waivers for 2020-21 until the fall.
As we work through the process, we thank you for your ongoing patience. We will communicate again once amounts have been calculated.
