Boarding & Exiting Procedures
Students are expected to be at their bus stop 2-3 minutes before the bus arrives to ensure they are not in traffic when the bus is near. Students should wait in the Safety Zone until the bus has come to a complete stop and the bus operator has opened the door.
The bus stairs can become slippery with debris from shoes and wet weather. Students should always hold onto the handrail and refrain from running up the bus stairs.

Around the school bus there is an area called the Danger Zone where it might be difficult for the bus operator to have a clear view of anyone standing too close to the bus. Children need to stay outside the Danger Zone to be safe. They should take 5 giant steps after exiting the bus and wait in the Safety Zone until the bus drives away. By doing this, the bus operator can be sure that all of the students are safe and not near the wheels of the bus.
