Elk Island Public Schools recognizes families are looking for information about reported COVID-19 cases in schools and the impact on in-school learning. While the Division doesn't report the specific number of student and staff absences related to COVID-19 or illness, EIPS does report the number of classes or grade groups transitioned to temporary online learning. The information is updated at the end of each school day.

When a transition to temporary online learning occurs:

• Kindergarten to Grade 6 classes: learn online using Brightspace for five school days.
• Junior and senior high classes: learn online using Brightspace for five calendar days.

Families whose children transition to temporary online learning are notified by the school and sent detailed information outlining duration, scheduling, important links and resources.
