With the authority of the School Act, EIPS has created a boundary system where students are assigned a designated school, which is usually their neighbourhood school, depending on school capacity and utilization. By providing a designated school for each child, EIPS ensures there is space available in that school to meet children's educational needs. Please view Administrative Procedure 305, School Attendance Areas and Requests to Attend Non-Designated Schools for more information.
It is common practice within Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) for families to register their children at their Designated School, as all schools in the division provide quality educational programming.
