Sherwood Park, AB. — Students, families, community members and media are invited to attend an upcoming information session about Elk Island Public Schools’ (EIPS) Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP). The program, offered to learners in grades 10 through 12, allows students to gain work experience as an apprentice in a specific trade while also earning credits toward a high school diploma.
Hosted by EIPS’ Career Pathways, participants will learn about RAP and how it works, gain insight about new opportunities in the trades—particularly for women—and hear real-life stories from current and past students who enrolled in a RAP placement. Representatives from Women Building Futures, Dow Chemical, Career Pathways and Careers: the Next Generation will present and be on hand to answer questions.
