Will you be back next year?

Is your Grade 12 student considering upgrading any courses or do they still have graduation requirements to fulfil? If they’re planning to return to Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) in 2025-26, they’re encouraged to register as a returning Grade 12 (R12) student as soon as possible and no later than Sept. 29, 2025. 

EIPS offered a variety of returning Grade 12 programming options

Returning to their current school
If your child would like to return to their current school or another EIPS senior high school, contact the applicable school office when school offices reopen on Aug. 21, 2025. School staff will provide specific details on how to complete the R12 registration process.

Flexibility available from Next Step 
If your child requires additional flexibility in their schedule next year, Next Step may be a good fit. Next Step offers flexible programming through in-person courses at three community locations—Fort Saskatchewan, Sherwood Park and Vegreville. Individualized programming involves students meeting on campus at least once a week to check in with teachers and complete assessments. If your child would like to register at any one of the Next Step locations as an R12 student, contact one of the Next Step offices through the online contact form—staff are responding to messages throughout the summer. Registration is open to any EIPS families, regardless of where you live within the Division, as R12 programming through Next Step is offered across EIPS.

Collegiate Pathways programming
Registration is also now open for collegiate pathways programming—including trades and technologies pathways or health and human services pathways—at Campus EIPS in 2025-26. Register now
