The EIPS Early Learning team has planned several sessions for current PALS families to help children build on the skills they’re learning in our PALS classrooms and offer some fun activities you can participate in with your child.

We invite you to join us for any or all upcoming sessions that fit your schedule in October through December. Many sessions have both a daytime and evening option. Sessions will take place via Microsoft Teams, and the links to join will be sent to all registered families prior to the session date.

The links to register were sent directly to all current PALS families or contact your school for more information.

If you have any questions about the upcoming sessions, contact your child’s school directly or reach out to Cindy Talaga, EIPS early learning consultant, at cindy.talaga@eips.ca.

Building Language through Everyday Conversations: Early Communicators

                       Wednesday, October 5, 6:30-7:15 p.m.

Circle of Security Parenting™
Dates:            Mondays, October 17, 24, 31, November 14, 21, 28 and December 5, 1-2 p.m.
(please plan to attend all)

At times, all parents feel lost or without a clue about what our child might need from us. Imagine what it might feel like if you were able to make sense of what your child was really asking from you. The Circle of Security Parenting™ program is based on decades of research about how secure parent-child relationships can be supported and strengthened.

Learning objectives of the training:

  • Understand your child’s emotional world by learning to read their emotional needs.
  • Support your child’s ability to successfully manage emotions.
  • Enhance the development of your child's self-esteem.
  • Honour your innate wisdom and desire for your child to be secure.

This will be a series of sessions that build on one another. Plan to attend the full series.

                       Wednesday, December 7, 6:30-7:15 p.m.

Young children learn best through play. All children have play interests and preferences. Great play materials are often right under our noses! Come to this session to learn how to facilitate play in ways that are easy to fit into your daily routine. With the holiday season approaching, you may even find some ideas for what your child would enjoy as a gift—either homemade or something available commercially. Play helps to relieve stress and build brains—and that goes for all ages!
