Sent to all James Mowat Elementary families
Dear James Mowat Elementary families:
Further to the information you received about 2024-25 registration from Elk Island Public Schools earlier this week, we wanted to pass along information about two important processes and associated deadlines for current James Mowat families to keep in mind.
If your child currently attends James Mowat Elementary:
- Complete your child's returning student registration to secure their spot at James Mowat Elementary next year.
- Returning student registration opens February 8 at 9 a.m. and forms are due Feb. 21, 2024.
If you have one or more children currently attending James Mowat who will be back next year and another child who will attend James Mowat for the first time in 2024-25—for example, a sibling starting kindergarten next year:
- Complete the returning student registration forms for all current James Mowat students by Feb. 21, 2024.
- Complete the new student registration form for the sibling as soon as possible when registration opens. New student registration, including kindergarten registration, opens at 9 a.m. on February 1.
- To guarantee the sibling's spot at James Mowat Elementary, the new student registration form must be submitted by March 8, 2024.
- If the sibling's new student registration form is submitted on or after March 9, 2024, they’ll be directed to the alternate-designated school, Fort Saskatchewan Elementary—unless space remains available in a particular grade at James Mowat Elementary.
