EIPS administration began this work by sharing information and gathering feedback through September school council meetings.
September School Council Meeting powerpoint presentation
During these meetings, EIPS shared information with and gathered feedback from parents to help guide the Bruderheim School boundary review process. As a result of the feedback collected, an additional criterion to consider in redrawing the boundary lines has been added.
Criteria to be considered:
- Keeping communities and sub-divisions together
- Length of bus ride times, number of buses, cost
- Use of major roads and highways as natural breaks, where feasible
- Physical proximity to school
- Rezoning of land to heavy industrial along Highway 15 (added)
Thank you to all the parents who participated in these meetings and shared their input. We recognize the start of the school year is a busy time and the September School Council meeting agendas can be quite full. EIPS appreciates this opportunity to share information about the review, gather feedback from parents, and answer questions about the process.
Throughout October, EIPS will be using the information gathered through the September meetings and reviewing our division information and data to begin redrawing boundary lines, reviewing transportation implications, and developing options for further public feedback.
