Further to our email on June 13, below is the link for Phase 4 of the French Immersion program consultation.

Before beginning the survey, you may wish to review the background information available through the Division website at www.eips.ca—including general background information, Q&A: EIPS French Immersion Public Engagement, Facts and Figures: EIPS French Immersion Engagement, What We Heard Report: Phase 1, What We Heard Report: Phase 2 and What We Heard Report: Phase 3 Part 1. This is especially important for those families and staff who haven’t been involved in the consultation before now. For ease of reference while you’re responding, applicable links will also be provided in the body of the survey.

Sandra Stoddard, Associate Superintendent, Supports for Students, will present a number of video segments explaining the background of the consultation; what the Division cannot consider in determining the best possible option; a review of each of the three proposed options; and a conclusion.

As indicated in the previous email, consultation to this point has focused on families whose children attend French Immersion programs—in Fort Saskatchewan, Ardrossan and Sherwood Park. The Division is expanding its consultation to families and staff in other specialized and regular programs in Sherwood Park because two of the potential solutions presented may affect EIPS boundaries and programming throughout Strathcona County.

The survey will remain open until Thursday, July 13—participants can complete the survey at any point before the deadline. It’s recommended you set aside a minimum of 30 minutes to watch the videos and provide your feedback. Any time before pushing the “Submit Feedback” button, you’re able to go back and change your responses if you wish.

Once the survey closes, the Division will send all the data to a third-party consultant who’ll spend the summer analyzing your feedback and developing a report for the EIPS Board of Trustees to review in the fall.

NOTE: The survey link is unique to each email address. Only one response per link will be included in the data collected.

Thank you for your participation in this important engagement.
