Dear EIPS families:
This is a reminder to join Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) as it hosts a community conversation with school families in Fort Saskatchewan—taking place tomorrow at 5:30 p.m.
Make sure to attend to learn about some of the challenges the Division faces in Fort Saskatchewan and how it plans to address these—specifically, in terms of the limited and ageing infrastructure, the region’s growing population and anticipated capacity challenges. Plus, gain insight about strategies moving forward, ask questions, share your concerns and find out how you can help.
Community Conversation: Details
Date: April 25, 2024
Time: 5:30 p.m.—doors open at 5:15 p.m.
Location: SouthPointe School; 11 SouthPointe Blvd.; Fort Saskatchewan, AB
*childcare provided
The Division will begin with a brief presentation, followed by a panel discussion and a question-and-answer period. EIPS will speak on the conditions of some of its schools, the limitations of older buildings, capital plan priorities and the work it has undertaken on the collegiate model—designed to provide students with high-demand employment training and skills in their community. The goal: To ensure all Fort Saskatchewan learners receive a high-quality, student-centred education in 21st-century learning spaces—spaces that prepare students for life after high school, develop career opportunities and help build the community, all at the same time.
Can’t make the conversation? That’s OK. Following the meeting, EIPS will post a recap online and how to contact the Division for more information. In the meantime, to learn more, or to subscribe for updates, visit eips.ca.
We look forward to seeing you there!
Sincerely,
Elk Island Public Schools
